Dr. Valerie G. Segovia currently serves as a Vice President in economic development. Prior to this role, she was a higher education professional with over 30 years of experience at all levels, including 27 years in leadership positions both in her home state and internationally, where she created impactful workforce programs.
Dr. Segovia is also an entrepreneur, business owner, content creator, and was the producer and host of a podcast. Before writing “The Gs” series of five books, she authored a children’s series of seven books aimed at encouraging children to dream about their future careers.
She is a recognized speaker, creator, collaborator, and presenter throughout the state and internationally. Dr. Segovia holds a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies, two master’s degrees in counseling and administration and supervision, and a doctorate in educational leadership.
She is a mother to three grown, beautiful children, spouse to her husband, a “Bubbie” to her perfect granddaughters, and an animal and nature lover. Additionally, she is the twelfth of her parents’ thirteen children!
